    The Imagineer

I'm not your traditional Engineer. I like to call myself an Imagineer and my mission is to engineer a better future. I hope my story will show you why :)

After completing my Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University of Melbourne, I fell (basically by accident) into the highly unstructured and dynamic world of startups. After wearing many hats at an Ed Tech startup I decided it was time to find that elusive corporate job and build a "career."

So I found my way into a large multinational FMCG business as a supply chain & logistics graduate. This program was highly valuable and I was able to learn the ins and outs of the business from sales and marketing through to supply chain and logistics. After rolling off the graduate program after 2 years I moved into a continuous improvement analyst role where I worked on driving improvement initiatives across the supply chain. Highlights of my time in the business were leading a project to reduce customer returns resulting in significant business savings and pitching and piloting an employee referral program to drive new business revenue.

However, after almost 3 years in the business the slow moving nature of things and the resistance to innovation was beginning to suffocate me. I felt like I needed to change things up - this wasn't the place for me to keep growing. I wanted to challenge myself. It's as if the business listened to me. The combination of market conditions and organisational restructures gave me the opportunity to take a leap of faith onto my next adventure.

I'd had this burning desire to backpack and see the world and with this new found curiosity I packed my bags and travelled solo around Europe and the Middle East for 4 months. I also amped up my writing game. While I was travelling I researched and discussed with innovators how disruptive technology and digital innovations are changing the world. I was even lucky enough to be featured on blogging platform Medium to over 20,000 readers!

After coming back home I decided to focus on my passion for creating new things and as such have developed some really cool new skills in the process. Getting involved in the Melbourne's growing startup community through events and the like has been a great way to help drive my entrepreneurial creativity and curiosity.

I am in my element when I'm working with new concepts and solving problems, specifically the challenge of taking new solutions (ideas) from concept to delivery.

Some of the projects I've collaborated on include:

    • Project Managed a hybrid design thinking/hackathon industry challenge from conception to execution – “The Ideathon – To be Disrupted” (see video).” This involved setting up strategic partnerships in collaboration between the SCLAA, RMIT University, PWC & startup pre-accelerator Pitchblak.
    • Growth of Instagram accounts "Golf Hero" & "The Hound Life" from scratch to over 30, 000 followers globally.
    • The development of two new online courses and website rebuild for a high growth edTech company.
    • Developed go to market strategies for "Get in the hole golf" - an app connecting social golfers to trending deals.
    • Secured Australian distribution rights and executed a local product launch for the Whisky Sauce Co.
    • Co host of The Logistics Media Network - www.lmnpost.com - a global news site, blog and podcast for the world of supply chain innovation, marketing and startups.
    • Multiple website development projects.

Currently, I am engaged as a Change Agent and Project Manager at Cohesio Group. I love working with new ideas and concepts, re-imagining the way things work, building for sustainable growth and developing seamless customer experiences and outcomes.

With a strong continuous improvement background across a range of industry sectors including engineering, education, manufacturing and logistics and a creative, entrepreneurial flair, my diverse skill-set and problem solving capabilities make me an Imagineer to be reckoned with.

I'm looking forward to meeting you soon.
